Buskey Cider is releasing Buskey Rakau Hopped Cider with friends and neighbors Väsen Brewing Company. This hopped cider was crafted with 100% Virginia apples and rakau hops, and features notes of stone fruit and pine from hops that intermingle with the yeast strain selected for its tropical notes.
“There are a lot of hopped ciders out there, but over the years, Buskey has taken its hop program to the next level, visiting hop producers and using around 20 hop varieties ranging from classic to highly experimental,” said Will Correll, founder of Buskey Cider. “Buskey’s hopped projects have ranged from bone dry to semi-sweet, from filtered to hazy and fruited. As part of this program, we’ve enjoyed collaborating with cool breweries over the years.”
Buskey has collaborated with Väsen Brewing Company, Ardent Craft Ales, Basic City Beer Co., and Cape Charles Brewing Company, among others.
The Rakau Hop Cider is a part of the Scott’s Addition Collab crawl where Väsen simultaneously created Pomme Saison featuring Buskey’s apple juice. The Scott’s Addition Collab Crawl is the second longest running crawl in the neighborhood. Each March, producers around the neighborhood pair up to make collaborations to celebrate Scott’s Addition and kick off spring. Buskey initiated the first Scott’s Addition Beverage District crawl in the neighborhood with the Booz Crawl for Halloween back in 2016.
Buskey Rakau Hopped Cider will be available on draft and in 16oz cans in the Richmond and Cape Charles tasting rooms and for delivery in Richmond and surrounding suburbs, NoVA, and Hampton Roads via www.buskeycider.com.
